Frequently asked questions about the platform

What is the difference between e-Residency and Full Residency?

e-Residency is free and gives you a digital presence in the city: you can register and maintain companies, own land and property, access digital city services, and visit as a guest. Full Residency is a paid subscription that adds physical residency rights, full-time living in the city, a registered physical address, and full community access. Every new account starts on e-Residency by default.

How do I move into the city?

Start by signing up for a free account, which gives you e-Residency immediately. To physically move in, complete KYC onboarding and upgrade to Full Residency from your account. Once your residency is active, you can register a physical address in the city and access all in-person services.

How much does Full Residency cost?

Full Residency is $625 per month, or $6,000 per year if you pay annually (a 20% saving compared to monthly). You can switch between monthly and yearly billing, or downgrade back to e-Residency, at any time from your residency settings.

Do I need to complete KYC?

Yes. Identity verification (KYC) is required before you can register a company, purchase land, or upgrade to Full Residency. You can start the KYC process from the onboarding section of your dashboard. Approvals are typically reviewed by city administrators within a few business days.

How do I register a company?

Once your account is active, open the Company Registry from your dashboard and follow the guided registration flow. You will provide company details, ownership structure, and supporting documents. Registration requires an active Company Maintenance subscription, which is set up as part of the registration checkout.

What is the Company Maintenance fee?

The Company Maintenance fee is a recurring subscription that keeps your registered company in good standing on the registry. It is $15 per month or $150 per year and includes statutory compliance, document storage, the ability to submit annual statements, and compliance status tracking. It is required for every registered company.

What is the Annual Turnover Fee?

In addition to the maintenance subscription, every company pays a one-time Annual Turnover Fee after submitting its annual statement. The fee is based on declared turnover: free for very small companies (under $10,000), $150 for small ($10,001–$500,000), $350 for medium ($500,001–$10,000,000), and $850 for large companies (above $10,000,000). A $950 Platinum Privacy tier is also available for companies that prefer not to disclose turnover publicly.

Can I manage multiple companies from one account?

Yes. Each company you register becomes its own team workspace inside your account, with its own members, roles, documents, and compliance status. You can switch between personal and company workspaces from the workspace menu in the top navigation.

Can I buy land or property in the city?

Yes. Both e-Residents and Full Residents can own land and property, provided KYC is complete. Browse available parcels in the Property Registry and follow the purchase flow to register ownership. Title and ownership records are stored on the registry and are linked to your account.

What fees apply when I buy land?

Land transactions are subject to land registry fees, which depend on the type and value of the parcel. You can preview the exact fees for any parcel using the public Land Fee Calculator before committing to a purchase. Annual land charges (where applicable) are billed separately to the owning account.

Can a company own land?

Yes. Land and property can be held either by an individual resident or by a registered company. When purchasing through a company workspace, the title is registered in the company's name and managed from that workspace.

What payment methods are supported?

Payments are processed through Stripe, so you can pay with all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) as well as the local payment methods that Stripe enables for your country. Subscriptions are charged automatically on each renewal.

Where can I find my invoices and payment history?

All invoices are available from the Billing section of your personal account or company workspace. Each invoice can be downloaded as a PDF, and your full payment history — including subscription renewals and one-time fees — is listed there.

Can I cancel or change my subscription?

Yes. You can cancel, pause, or switch between monthly and yearly plans at any time from the Billing section. If you downgrade Full Residency, you will keep access until the end of the current billing period and then return to e-Residency automatically.

Do you offer refunds?

Subscription fees are generally non-refundable once a billing period has started, but you will not be billed again after cancelling. One-time fees, such as turnover fees and land registry charges, are non-refundable once the underlying transaction has been processed. If something looks wrong on an invoice, please contact support and we will investigate.

Is my data secure?

Your account is protected by modern authentication, with optional multi-factor authentication available for both personal and company accounts. All data is stored with strict access controls, and sensitive identity documents submitted during KYC are only accessible to authorised reviewers.
