Article 4.39 Rights of the Accused and Protection of Victims
(a1) The rights of the accused shall include, at a minimum:
(ia) the presumption of innocence;
(iib) the right to be informed promptly and in detail of the accusation;
(iiic) the right to legal representation;
(ivd) the right to adequate time and facilities to prepare a defence;
(ve) the right to examine witnesses and evidence; and
(vf) the right to appeal conviction and sentence in accordance with law.
(b) (2) The applicable criminal procedural framework shall provide appropriate procedural protections, information rights, and support measures for victims, consistent with internationally recognised standards.
