Article 2.5.11 Ethical Safeguards and Oversight
(a) Informed Consent and Child Participation:
(i) All family law proceedings and agreements shall be grounded in informed, voluntary consent.
(ii) Children capable of forming their own views shall be given a reasonable opportunity to express them, with their views given due weight in accordance with their age and maturity.
(iii) Parents, guardians, and legal representatives shall be required to act in the child’s best interests at all times.
(b) Protection from Exploitation:
(i) Family law frameworks shall be designed to prevent:
(ii) Exploitation of vulnerable persons;
(iii) Commodification of family relationships (e.g. in surrogacy or adoption);
(iv) Discrimination on the basis of gender, nationality, sexual orientation, religion, or socioeconomic status.
(v) Any agreement or proceeding that breaches these principles may be declared void or unenforceable by the ICT Court.
