Article 3.38 Seizure

(a) (1) City Security may seize an object where it is necessary:

1. To protect an individual or the community from an imminent disruption to security or order or to eliminate an existing disruption; or

2. To prevent misuse by a person detained or held under this Code or other applicable law.

(b) (2) The affected person shall be informed immediately of the reason for the seizure and the available legal remedies. Upon request, a certificate shall be issued.

(c) (3) The seizure shall be lifted as soon as its purpose is achieved. Unless otherwise specified by law, the seizure shall not be maintained for more than six months.
