Article 6.20 Arrest and Power to Remand in Custody

(a) 6.20.1 Subject to the other provisions in this Code, the court shall have the power to remand an accused in custody, whether or not it has power to try such person, at any time from the time they are charged until the time, if any, that they are discharged.

(b) (2) Every court has the power to issue a warrant for the arrest of a person accused of an offence, provided a charge and summons has been filed under Article and whether or not the charge and summons has been served on the accused.

(c) (3) Every City Security officer has the power and duty to seek to arrest a person in respect of whom a warrant for arrest has been issued under any Article in this Code.

(d) 6.20.4 A person arrested under warrant must be placed into custody and produced to the court at the earliest opportunity.

(e) 6.20.5 When a person is produced to the court under Article the court may order the release of the person (on bail under Article Error: Reference source not found or under their own recognisance) or remand the person in custody.
