Article 6.5 The Duty of the Participants in a Criminal Case
(a) (1) Each party to a case, including advocates, must:
(A) prepare and conduct the case in accordance with the overriding objective;
(B) comply with this Code, practice directions and orders made by the court or appeal court (as applicable); and
(C) at once inform the court or appeal court (as applicable) and all other parties of any significant failure to take any step required by this Code, any practice direction, or any direction of the court or appeal court (whether or not that party is responsible for that failure). A failure is significant if it might hinder the court or appeal court in furthering the overriding objective.
